Smiling Faces?

Michael Barone of U.S. News and World Report has this post on law firms thumbing their noses at the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

In his post, Barone mentions some of the high profile folks who have been complaining about proposed revisions to ABA Standard 211. And he reiterates their concerns about the ill effects of racial preferences on those “who are the supposed beneficiaries of this discrimination.”

Question: are these high profile folks really concerned about the “supposed beneficiaries of this discrimination,” or do they have other concerns? Why don’t we hear these people express their concern about the children of Harvard Law School alumni who get into Harvard Law School on credit rather than merit?
